Transformation Sequences is a project with writer Amanda Choo Quan and myself. It features compositions for musicians and writers from LA, Toronto and Trinidad. Every piece adds a new singer or a new collaborator starting from one to many.

The live excerpt above, Transformation Sequence for 3, is the third piece of this work. Each piece is a different expression of a lived-body's relationship to the world and to others; each piece is a new instantiation of the experiential effects of moving from one place to another.

 

Some pieces revolve around self and new environments; Amanda and I share a sense of voluntary, temporary 

displacement from our birth environments. Other pieces are more introspective and embody memory of place and self-observance; jumping around different scales of the experience of time.
